precision is knowing what to omit.
omit studio is an independent creative practice led by Timo Andenmatten, specialising in visual identity, editorial design, and digital experiences. The studio is built on the belief that the most effective communication comes from removing unnecessary noise. By prioritising clarity and intent, omit studio transforms complex ideas into refined visual systems that are both functional and enduring.
While the studio’s primary output is rooted in graphic design, the work is informed by Timo Andenmatten’s background in architecture, music and movement. These disciplines provide a unique perspective on composition, timing, and spatial balance, ensuring that every project feels as vivid as it is precise.
My name is Timo Andenmatten, I am 25 years old, and currently living in Amsterdam.
My path was shaped by a dual education: first as a trained architectural draftsman, and later through a BA in Contemporary Dance. Despite the different media, I have always found myself returning to a single core value: a deep appreciation for coherence and the clarity found in simplicity.
This fascination began long before my formal training. As a teenager, I was constantly experimenting: designing party flyers for friends, creating stickers, or simply exploring the possibilities of the Adobe Suite. It was through a deep-seated inspiration for Modernist architecture that I found my way to the principles of Bauhaus and Swiss Design, where every line has a purpose and every space has a function.
Alongside design, music and dance have always served as essential outlets: ways to express what words could not. I am firmly convinced that we do our best work when we are fueled by what we love, and that is why omit studio exists. It is a collection of my favourite disciplines; part sketchbook, part sound library, and above all, a home for my creative soul.
